When it comes to a Hawaiian getaway on the beautiful island of Oahu, there is so much more to do than sit on Waikiki beach. While you’ll find plenty of fun in the Waikiki area, there is also so much to be explored on the rest of the island!

From hula lessons, drinking cocktails in the sky and running away from imaginary dinosaurs, there is truly something for everyone in this tropical paradise.

So, here are 50 awesome things to do in Oahu…

  • Grab a smoothie bowl from the Sunrise Shack. Be warned – there are so many delicious options to choose from!
  • Spend a day soaking up the history at Pearl Harbour.
  • Have a full YOLO-moment and skydive over the North Shore.
  • Check out the incredible architecture on some of Hawaii’s oldest building on a walking tour of historic Honolulu.
  • Hike Diamond Head Crater and admire the views of Honolulu from the sky.
  • Discover the best eats on the island with Hawaii Food Tours.
  • Admire the awe-inspiring coastlines on the Leeward Coast.
  • Go whale watching at Makapu’u Point during migration season.
  • Wander among 400 acres of tropical plants at the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens.

  • Take a selfie with the Duke Paoa Kahanamoku Statue at Waikiki Beach.
  • Grab dinner from a food truck & watch the sunset at Shark’s Cove.
  • Explore the botanical gardens and waterfall while learning about Native Hawaiian history at Waimea Valley.
  • Explore the ocean in a kayak and try to spot as much sea life as you can.
  • Spot sea turtles sunning on the sand at Laniakea Beach (remember not to get too close).
  • Go paddle-boarding at Waikiki Beach if surfing isn’t your thing.
